Exeter
We are a friendly, supportive group with a great atmosphere. We meet monthly, normally on the 2nd Monday of each month (apart from August), from 6.30-8.30pm.
The group is open to WAC members. Non-members are invited to attend for up to 3 meetings before becoming a member. You don’t need to book, just turn up on the night.
The group has opportunities for learning from our guest speakers, as well as networking (we spend some time sharing a cup of tea, biscuits and a chat.)
Fiona Cockings & Mike Butler are the current organisers.
Our meeting place is:
Southernhay UR Church, Dix’s Field, EX1 1QA on the corner of Southernhay East, opposite the Tourist Information Office.
To cover our costs we ask for a contribution of £4 for members £5 non-members You will receive a 2 hour Certificate of Attendance each month.
We are on the ground floor with easy access for people with mobility issues and there is plenty of free parking nearby after 6pm. Exeter Central train station is a 5-10 minute walk, and there are plenty of bus stops nearby in the High Street.
We run an exciting programme of CPD events, including themes and speakers suggested by our group members and others depending on external circumstances, so keep an eye on the events page of the website. If self-isolation and distancing due to Covid-19 continue after August, we can provide the meetings online via Zoom. The last ones have been so successful that some members were suggesting to have an online group.
If you would like to volunteer to help us with practical duties on the night, or planning, please contact one of us for a chat.
